After moving to San Diego for a new job opportunity, Claire lost her job and found herself sleeping in a rental car while searching for work and stability. Through CRC’s Rapid Rehousing Program, Food & Nutrition Center, case management and mental health support, Claire moved into an apartment near Christmas and continues working toward her goals.

After experiencing homelessness in Carlsbad, Nathan connected with CRC’s Rapid Rehousing program and began taking steps toward stability, recovery and a home of his own. Today, he is housed, employed and looking toward the future with hope.

At 78 years old, Sylvia came to CRC seeking support after experiencing abuse and instability. With advocacy, housing support and other services, she began building a safer, more stable future and shared that she now feels “more hopeful, more secure, and brighter about the future.”

For Jack, Holiday Baskets has been part of his life since he was a kid who volunteered in the program. This year, as a recent college graduate, Jack returned to Community Resource Center’s Holiday Baskets program again, this time volunteering alongside his mom, who now serves as a Holiday Baskets Captain. It’s a full-circle moment that speaks to the long-term impact of service, and the way meaningful volunteer experiences grow with us over time.
