About Volunteering at CRC
Our volunteers help at our Food & Nutrition Center and resale stores, assist our staff at CRC events, host donation drives and fundraisers and help the marketing and development team with various projects. Your skills and experience make it possible for CRC to provide programs to end hunger, homelessness and domestic violence in our community.
We couldn’t do this work without you!
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with CRC! Please see below for ways to get involved.

Volunteer of the Month
Valerie is a volunteer at our Encinitas Resale Store. Robert Pontier, Encinitas store manager writes, “I have so many good volunteers to choose from, so it is always difficult to come up with just one nomination. But I would like to nominate Valerie. Valerie comes Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays, processes the clothing for us so she sorts, hangs, tags, puts it out and pulls it when it is time. No matter how much clothing (it is usually A LOT) is waiting for Valerie when she arrives, she gets right to it and gets through the entire pile. She always has a smile on her face and is pleasant to work with. Valerie’s dedication to the Encinitas resale store is one of the main reasons we are doing so well.”
Thank you, Valerie, and to all our resale store volunteers for the great work you do!
I started volunteering at CRC in the summer of 2019 because I believe in the mission. The resale stores help fund the mission, so I am proud to help the stores be successful. Plus, I love thrift stores!

Behind each face is a person, a story, a resiliency that blows my mind. I’m grateful [to walk] alongside them up the aisles of the food pantry at CRC, and challenge me to grow in my acceptance, presence, compassion, and gratitude of those I meet.
— Susan, Food and Nutrition Center (FNC) volunteer
I had one lady that I walked from the store that was almost in tears. She was able to buy the cleaning supplies she needed, but also bought clothing and Christmas gifts for her kids. She was sooooo grateful and appreciative!
