Maria spent several years unsheltered, without a safe place to call home. When she reached out to Community Resource Center, she connected with an advocate who helped her take the first steps toward stability – providing resources, finding an apartment and covering the deposit and first month’s rent with Rapid Re-housing assistance. With a stable home, Maria has been able to focus on healing and rebuilding her life. She also utilizes CRC’s Food & Nutrition Center each month to make sure she has enough nourishing food. Maria shares:
“It has been a blessing to come to CRC. I was homeless for many years and called CRC for help. I was connected with an advocate, who started helping me with resources. She helped me to get my deposit and first month’s rent and a place to live right away.
Since then my life has been stable and healing. The CRC Food Pantry helps me have enough food every month. I’ve always been treated with respect and dignity. I am thankful for every person that has contributed for my opportunity to heal and live a brand-new life.”
