CRC invites community to help 1,100 local households in need receive food and gifts during drive-thru Holiday Baskets
Encinitas, Calif., October 7, 2020—Community Resource Center (CRC) seeks community partners to help brighten the holidays for struggling local households during their 38th Annual Holiday Baskets. Due to Covid-19, CRC transitioned their 38th annual program to a drive-thru, contactless distribution taking place on Saturday, December 5. This year, 1,100 participating households will receive a variety of gift boxes that include non-perishable food, fresh produce, a blanket and family presents. Two hundred families with infants will also receive a baby blanket and other essentials.
CRC invites community members to participate:
- Partner: Involve your company or organization in giving back this season by becoming a Holiday Baskets Partner.
- Host a drive: Organize a donation drive or virtual fundraiser to help collect items to fill holiday gift boxes for families and seniors.
- Donate: Support CRC’s Holiday Baskets and year-round programs that provide food, housing and shelter for our neighbors in need.
CRC’s CEO, John Van Cleef says, “While the holidays will be different for all of us this year, the hardships caused by Covid-19 will make them even more out of reach for those who are hungry, homeless and hurting. We encourage the community to join us in giving help and hope to neighbors in need this holiday season.”
Holiday Baskets participants access CRC’s ongoing supportive services to receive healthy food, stable housing and safe shelter from domestic violence.
