Rental Assistance in Encinitas
CRC has partnered with the city of Encinitas to provide rental assistance to help prevent eviction and homelessness.

Based on the needs of each household, support could include short-term rental assistance, rental arrears and late fees, security and utility deposits, landlord mediation/advocacy, new move-in expenses and employment assistance. Residents must reside in the Encinitas area and meet other program requirements. Please note: the waitlist for the Homelessness Intervention Funds Program for those experiencing homelessness in the City of Carlsbad is now closed.
COVID-19 Emergency Rental Assistance in Carlsbad
The City of Carlsbad is providing one-time grants to cover past due and future rent payments for eligible households financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. If you live in Carlsbad and have struggled to pay your rent due to a loss of income or COVID-19 illness, you may be eligible for help.
Rapid Re-housing Assistance
CRC provides families and individuals experiencing homelessness with case management and housing navigation support, as well as rental and deposit assistance with the goal of helping participants obtain and maintain permanent housing. Referrals for this program come directly from the Coordinated Entry System facilitated by the Regional Task Force on the Homeless.
City of Encinitas COVID-19 Emergency Rental and Utility Assistance Program
The City of Encinitas COVID-19 Emergency Rental and Utility Assistance Program provides financial assistance to eligible Encinitas households facing financial hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Motel Voucher Program
- Provides a short-term stay in a local motel and may prevent people’s fall from temporary homelessness to chronic homelessness
- Requires a housing plan within 2 weeks
- Dependent upon current funds availability
Interfaith Shelter Network Access
- Night-only rotational shelter between churches in the North County Coastal Area providing shelter and meals for transitionally homeless individuals and families
- Runs from October through April
