CRC’s Commitment to Real Solutions for Homelessness

Everyone deserves the dignity of a safe home.

The San Diego Union-Tribune recently highlighted a regional encampment resolution effort helping unsheltered households secure safe shelter and support. In the article, CRC case manager Abigail Perez shares: “Clients have said, ‘I’ve been handed a pamphlet, or offered shelter or a hygiene kit,’ but none have seen an agency that actually offered something permanent.”

That permanent solution is exactly what CRC and our partners are delivering. We’re working with the cities of Oceanside and Carlsbad and other nonprofit partners to provide housing assistance, temporary rent support and wraparound services. As a result, roughly half of the 65 people who had been sleeping outside along Buena Vista Creek are now living in their own homes.

The encouraging progress reaffirms what we know helps our unsheltered neighbors: consistent, compassionate and credible services. It starts with safe housing, extends through wraparound care and focuses on long-term stability.

Through steady, empathetic support, we empower people to access the resources that can transform their lives.

Our approach is grounded in data, best practice and collaboration with those we serve. We first ensure people have the essentials, including a safe place to live and nutritious food, and then provide personalized case management, counseling and the tools to build stability.

We’re committed to collaborating with local leaders, partner agencies and neighbors to address homelessness with dignity and efficacy.
