2021 Volunteer of the Year: Katrina Dodson

Katrina Dodson has volunteered at Community Resource Center for over nine years, and started as a volunteer at CRC’s Encinitas resale store.

She supports our fundraising efforts by making thank you calls to donors to acknowledge their gifts, serves on the Development & Marketing Committee and for our annual Tea fundraiser, she created several fun, short videos to help us promote the event.

CRC relies on its three resale stores to provide critical funding for their programs. Katrina is a regular volunteer at CRC’s Resale Store in Encinitas and checks in on the other two stores to make sure everything is in order. She also started a Tik-Tok account for the stores so we could test out promotions on that channel.

CRC began a capital campaign at the end of 2020, and Katrina is already heavily involved in that effort as a member of the Capital Campaign Steering Committee (Phases 1 and 2) and the Building Purchase Committee.

Katrina rolled off the CRC Board of Directors in July 2021, but continues to bring her enthusiasm and “can-do” attitude to CRC.  Her dedication to CRC has helped give help and hope to thousands of people who were hungry, homeless and hurting in our community. We are grateful to Katrina for always stepping in to serve others!
