Opening Doors to Healing: Trauma Recovery Center Ribbon Cutting

On Monday, September 16, I had the privilege to stand alongside my inspiring colleagues and community partners to celebrate the ribbon cutting of Community Resource Center’s Trauma Recovery Center in Carlsbad. This new center represents a significant expansion of CRC’s services, providing a healing environment and deeper support for our community.

The Trauma Recovery Center is an important addition to our community, created to ensure that trauma survivors have access to services that help them heal, rebuild and thrive. Removing barriers to care is essential for supporting survivors of violent crime. This center will provide comprehensive care, including clinical case management, trauma-informed psychotherapy, and evidence-based treatments for those facing mental health and substance use challenges.

We are grateful to the California Victim Compensation Board, County Supervisor Terra Lawson-Remer, Greathouse Family Foundation, Lucky Duck Foundation and the generous private donors whose support made this center possible.

Thank you to the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce and all the representatives from our community who joined us for the ribbon cutting ceremony. We were honored to be joined by representatives from the offices of Congressman Mike Levin, California Senator Catherine Blakespear, Assemblymember Tasha Boerner and San Diego County Supervisor Terra Lawson-Remer. The Carlsbad Chamber shared in a LinkedIn post:

“Community Resource Center’s service to this community is incredible. While they help people with the essentials of food, shelter, and safety, this new office represents not only their ability to reach out wider, but to be able to go deeper than basic needs by offering onsite therapy to support behavioral health needs and truly, whole health.”

The Trauma Recovery Center is more than a physical space; it is a symbol of hope, healing, and resilience for those affected by domestic violence, assault, homelessness and community violence.
