Happy Holidays from CRC

A Year of Impact, Made Possible Together

This virtual holiday card comes with heartfelt thank you from all of us at Community Resource Center.

As we reflect on 2024, we are inspired by the incredible impact we’ve achieved—together. This year, rising costs have made it harder for families to afford essentials like food, medication, and rent, but your support has provided help and hope to so many neighbors in need. Thank you to our supporters, donors and over 1,000 volunteers for making this work possible and ensuring our programs are there for those who need them most.

Your generosity helps CRC reach over 7,200 neighbors annually with access to food, shelter and safety.

Your support made this possible through November 2024:

  • 598,642 pounds of food were rescued to distribute to households experiencing food insecurity.
  • 659 visitors on average each month received nutritious food and essentials at our Food & Nutrition Center.
  • 83 individuals found safety and support in our domestic violence shelter.
  • 356 case management sessions on average each month provided resources and housing assistance to neighbors in need.
  • 2,164 people participated in domestic violence prevention and awareness trainings.
  • 2,846 calls were answered through our domestic violence hotline.

CRC participant data from January through November 2024.

With your continued support, we can make sure all the neighbors who come to us for help and hope are provided with assistance, through the end of 2024 and into the new year. If you haven’t yet given during our Season of Hope, please consider making a gift today to help neighbors in need thrive.

Moments of Transformation

Your support changes lives. Here are a few participant stories from this year that reflect what’s possible with a caring community:

“I’ve made it to my new home. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I am so grateful for your time and all your help. You are like a guardian angel.”

When you assist us with food, it brings me so much relief because sometimes I struggle to provide enough food for my kids throughout the month.”

“Amina was crying tears of joy. She was so grateful, and her children were squealing in delight as they saw their new home filled with special gifts.”

Through programs like Holiday Baskets, your kindness brought joy and relief to households in need:

“Holiday Baskets means we matter to this wonderful organization, the donors and volunteers. It makes our holiday so much better.”

“Holiday Baskets means community, the feeling of not being alone, and helps financially.

We are able to get gifts for those we thought we couldn’t. This was a blessing. Thank you.”

A Year of Celebration and Milestones

This year, we also celebrated 45 years of CRC serving North County San Diego. We’ve grown into an organization providing essential services across North County through our offices in Encinitas, San Marcos, and Carlsbad. Together, we achieved new milestones:

  • CRC was honored as Large Nonprofit of the Year by the San Diego Business Journal and Nonprofit Partner of the Year by the Encinitas Chamber of Commerce.
  • Our CEO, John Van Cleef, was recognized as Large Nonprofit Executive of the Year—a reflection of our community’s collective impact.

These achievements belong to all of us—neighbors helping neighbors, driven by compassion and a shared purpose.

The Need Continues: You Can Help

If you haven’t yet given during our Season of Hope, please consider making a tax-deductible contribution before year-end. Your gift ensures families have food on their tables, a safe place to call home and the resources and support to thrive.

Wishing you and your loved ones a holiday season filled with warmth, joy and meaningful memories. Thank you for building a community of hope, compassion, and transformation.

Happy Holidays from all of us at CRC!
