CRC Awarded Nonprofit and CEO of the Year from the San Diego Business Journal

CRC is honored to be awarded Nonprofit of the Year and CEO of the Year!

On September 10, Community Resource Center was recognized at the San Diego Business Journal’s 2024 Nonprofit & Corporate Citizenship Awards with two awards! Our CEO, John Van Cleef, was named Nonprofit Executive of the Year (large category), and Community Resource Center was honored as Nonprofit of the Year (large category).

We are honored to receive these awards in recognition of our work to provide economically vulnerable North County households with food, housing and safety from domestic violence. Founded in 1979, Community Resource Center (CRC) improves the community’s quality of life by providing person-centered, trauma-informed care designed to help people achieve self-sufficiency.

Thank you, John, for your compassionate leadership. Since joining CRC in 2018, you’ve strengthened our organization, inspired supporters, expanded programs, and transformed the lives of thousands facing hunger, homelessness, and trauma. Under your guidance, CRC has expanded services, with new offices in Carlsbad and San Marcos, making a lasting difference for our community.

Thank you to the San Diego Business Journal for highlighting the individuals and organizations making a difference in our community!
