Our October Volunteer of the Month is Yolanda Higgins, the volunteer lead for the Holiday Baskets Registration Team. From Shakira, her staff supervisor:
“Yolanda is my ‘right hand.’ She has been volunteering three days a week since August. I was out on medical leave and she started right after I returned. She volunteered to train volunteers and community partners so that I didn’t have to talk too much (due to medical condition). She also created training materials. With Yolanda’s help, this has been the best registration process we have had in my three years managing it.”
