Meet William

Series 4: Meet Your Unhoused Neighbor

A senior and lifelong Encinitas resident, William participated in Jewish Family Services’ Safe Parking Lot program here in Encinitas and then made his way to CRC.

When William connected with CRC he was considered an individual experiencing chronic homelessness, living over a year in a place not meant for human habitation.

He desperately needed housing as he wanted to focus on recuperating – he had existing medical conditions worsened by a car accident and then a bicycle accident.

William rejoiced when he was approved for housing and promptly moved in November 2022. Unfortunately, his lease term is ending and he is unable to renew as the building in undergoing major renovations.

William considers himself spiritual, loves to read, and discuss politics. He, like many seniors, is on a fixed income but is open to housing anywhere in the county. Ideally, he is looking for a studio or ADU. If you have any housing leads, please reach out. We would love to help William into housing once again.
