Thank you to the Takeda Team for bringing joy to families in need!
Thanks to a generous donation from the Takeda team, who chose Community Resource Center as the beneficiary of their team-building project, local families in need received 12 brand-new bicycles last month!
Takeda, a global biopharmaceutical company “committed to bringing Better Health and a Brighter Future” organized a Bikes for Charity Build as a team-building activity. The teamwork of the Takeda team turned into a generous gift for our community, giving kids and families bikes that offer more than just transportation. The bikes provided practical assistance and also brought joy and a sense of normalcy to families at our shelter.
We were touched to hear one special story from the bicycle donation. A mother staying at our domestic violence shelter shared that this past Christmas, she had hoped to provide her children with bikes, but she couldn’t afford it. Thanks to the Takeda team’s generosity, this mother was overjoyed to be able to give her children new bikes. This wasn’t just about the bikes; it was about providing these children who are at our shelter with a chance to feel like any other kid and begin to heal from trauma and just be kids.
A single act of kindness can have a profound impact! Bikes might seem simple, but for these kids, they represent joy and opportunity. We are grateful to the Takeda team for their thoughtful contribution and to all our supporters who continue to help us serve those in need. Together, we are making a difference, one bike, one family, one smile at a time.
