The incredible team from Hope for San Diego made a big impact at our Food Pantry and Encinitas resale store during their July day of service. Volunteers of all ages worked hard to deep clean and organize our facilities. They brought lots of hard work, fun and enthusiasm to the job!
Lee, CRC’s group volunteer leader, expressed his appreciation for the volunteers, saying:
“Saturday was AMAZING with the HOPE group! They brought the cavalry! They gracefully arranged all the cans, cleaned the shelves, tables, windows, freezer, fridge, counters, carts, volunteer room/laptop, fruit bins, and just about everything else! Such a fun, passionate, smiling group! Can’t wait to see them again soon!”
Lee Auerbach, Group Engagement Lead Volunteer
We love to see all ages and stages making it a priority to serve their neighbors. One highlight of the day was when Ben, one of the young volunteers, assisted with checking the shelves for expired food. Baby food is a category of food we are very diligent about since we cannot distribute it once the expiration date has been reached. His keen eye helped ensure the safety of the families we serve, and we captured a celebratory moment with him proudly displaying some of the expired baby items he kept off the shelves.
At our Encinitas resale store, volunteers cleaned the displays, deep cleaned the store and helped organize donated items. Their hard work helped make our store shine so that our customers have a pleasant shopping experience.
We’re grateful to the Hope for San Diego team for their hard work and commitment to serving our neighbors. Their efforts not only made our spaces cleaner and more organized but also uplifted the spirits of everyone involved.
