We are very grateful to all the community food drives, our storage facility is now filled with plenty of non-perishable food! We ask that you please wait until late January to hold any new donation drives, we’ll have more room for your donations then. Thank you!
Help Provide Healthy Food for our Neighbors in Need
One in seven of our neighbors don’t know where their next meal is coming from and one in five children are food insecure in San Diego County. Your support can help meet the needs of hundreds of families who visit our Food & Nutrition Center monthly.
Host a Food Drive
Help collect the items that families in our community most need by hosting your own food drive!
Community Resource Center provides nonperishable and fresh food to an average of 50+ households in need each weekday. The need is great, and we need your help to keep our food pantry stocked with these top ten items:
- Oatmeal (family-size container)
- Chicken/Tuna (canned)
- Peanut Butter
- Tomato Sauce (canned)
- Soup (canned)*
- Pasta (canned)*
- Canned fruit/fruit cups
- Beans (canned/bagged)
- Snack bars
- Milk (canned)
*Items currently not needed: Top Ramen, Macaroni & Cheese
To host a food drive, please contact: Yanira Frias at email@example.com.
You will receive information from the food drive coordinator on drop-off/pick-up dates and locations. Thank you!
Drive Champions Competition: To help us with sorting and storing, we ask that each drive select ONE item to collect. Drives will compete for the title of Drive Champion for each of the ten items in our wish list. For example, “Peanut Butter Drive Champion” or “Tuna Fish Drive Champion.” The winners will be selected based on total pounds collected and money raised (if you are also raising funds). The winning donation drive will be recognized in CRC’s monthly newsletter and on our social media channels!
If your collected items fit into a car or SUV, you may drop them off directly at our Food and Nutrition Center. If you collected a much larger quantity of items, please contact Cindy Collins at firstname.lastname@example.org for assistance.
