Meet Our Panelists
Mayor Catherine Blakespear, Encinitas Mayor: Mayor Blakespear is an outspoken & passionate leader in addressing and acknowledging the City of Encinitas’ commitment to be part of the solution to homelessness.
Captain John Marion, Encinitas Sheriff: Captain Maryon is known for his open lines of communication with the public, including “coffee with the Community” events, inviting residents to discuss safety and security issues.
Michael Williams, Author & Veteran: Michael was formerly homeless in Encinitas & obtained housing through the City of Encinitas’ partnership with CRC. Mr. Williams is passionate about educating people about homelessness and has written several books available on Amazon.*
Michael McConnell, Homeless Advocate: Michael is a San Diego businessman, key voice and influencer who is committed to reducing homelessness. Michael has served as a leader in San Diego in the “25 Cities” initiative and on the San Diego Regional Task Force on the Homeless.
Stephen Russell, Executive Director of San Diego Housing Federation: Stephen has a 20-year history working in community and economic development in the Mid-City region of San Diego and is a respected voice for Affordable Housing in the region.
