SUMMARY:2026 Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive
DESCRIPTION:The National Association of Letter Carriers hosts their annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive on the 2nd Saturday in May each year. This year\, on Saturday\, May 9\, letter carriers will collect your non-perishable food donations and deliver them back to the post offices. CRC will receive donations delivered to the Encinitas post office\, where CRC volunteers will sort and box them for our food pantry. \nParticipating in the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive is simple!\nJust leave a bag of nonperishable food donations by your mailbox on Saturday\, May 9. Your letter carrier will do the rest. \nSome of the top requested non-perishable food items are: cereal\, pasta\, pasta sauce or spaghetti sauce\, rice\, canned fruits and vegetables\, canned meals (such as soups\, chili and pasta)\, chicken/vegetable stock\, peanut butter\, macaroni & cheese\, canned protein (tuna\, chicken and turkey)\, beans (canned or dry). You also can donate healthy\, low-sodium\, low-sugar items such as oatmeal and other whole grains\, and canola or olive oil. \nUnable to donate food items\, but still want to help? DESCRIPTION:CRC is on the ballot for Lazy Acres Natural Market’s Envirotokens program\, and voting is now open through June 2! \n\nPlease consider voting for CRC once per day now through June 2 at:\nlazyacres.com/vote\n\nIt only takes a minute to vote! \n\nThis voting period helps determine which local nonprofits will be selected as Envirotokens recipients for the coming year. If CRC is voted in again\, we will become one of the nonprofit options customers can support at checkout at Lazy Acres Encinitas starting July 1. When shoppers bring their own grocery bags to Lazy Acres\, they receive a 10¢ Envirotoken for each bag used. They can then donate those tokens to one of six selected local nonprofits by placing them in that organization’s collection box at the store. Lazy Acres tallies the Envirotokens\, converts them to funding and sends a check to each nonprofit.\n\nThank you for your support and please help spread the word!

NetWalk attendees will have the opportunity to learn about CRC’s impactful services provided to the San Diego community. \nDifficulty level: Easy. The walk will be about 2.5 miles at a social pace along a flat and accessible route for all\, with a stop at the Swami’s Beach overlook. \nWho can attend: Anyone in the nonprofit and philanthropic field. Leashed and well-behaved furry friends are welcome to accompany us. \nLocation: Community Resource Center.
